I'm Shane Reisman. I build every VoterForce precinct map, targeting model, and field tool myself, by hand, from Lafayette, California. There's no platform to log into and nobody standing between you and the person who wrote the query.
In 2024 I ran for the East Bay Regional Park District Board in a competitive open-seat race. Most of what's in VoterForce traces back to questions I had as a candidate that nobody on my side could answer: which doors actually move, where vote-by-mail returns were lagging, whether a given precinct was worth a Saturday. Being on the receiving end of a campaign rather than the operating end of one changed how I think about voter contact and the small decisions that decide close races.
Before founding the practice I spent most of a career in congressional affairs, political campaigns, and management consulting — Booz Allen Hamilton, Slalom, and IBM Global Business Services. That work taught me how organizations actually buy data, and where the gap sits between what gets promised and what gets delivered. VoterForce is what fills that gap for the campaigns and civic organizations I serve.
It starts with a 20-minute call about your race — long enough to scope it, short enough to respect your schedule. From there you get a precinct universe and a map built for your district, not a template with your name on it: geocoded voter lists, turnout and persuasion scores, walk turfs your field director can use Monday morning, and where it helps, a self-serve canvassing app your volunteers can open on a phone. When someone on your team asks why a precinct scored the way it did, they ask me, and I answer.
I work with candidate campaigns, consultants running multiple races, ballot measure committees, and labor and advocacy programs — across the Bay Area and statewide. You can see how that has played out in the customer stories, including a Lafayette parcel tax that closed at 75% Yes.
I serve on the Lafayette Parks, Trails, and Recreation Commission and created the Lafayette-Moraga History Trail, a twelve-panel interpretive walking tour along the regional trail. The political work and the civic work share a home at theregional.io, and they come from the same conviction: the most consequential decisions about a place — a precinct of 1,200 voters, or a neighborhood deciding what to remember about its past — happen closest to the ground, and benefit from being taken seriously there.
